AUTISM INFORMATION

I was searching the net, trying to look for laws relating to autism.  And I came across a very interesting site, called Why Asperger Syndrome Is A Legal Disability.  Numerous times I've had my diagnosis for AS challenged, by bureaucratic big wigs.  They know sod all about Autism.  Only a person that has genuine Autism, can really teach about Autism.  You can't teach others about Autism, unless you really do have this condition.  You can't just wake up tommorow morning, and proclaim you have Asperger's/Autism.  It has to have existed since childhood.

http://www.ageofautism.com  This is one of the good sites that I have just recently found.  Or you can go to Polly Tommeys website that also runs a top Autism magazine.  http://autismfile.com Autism affects roughly the amount of people that would live in Cardiff.  So if you work that amount out, it is a high count.  Autism also affects in many other ways too.  It can cause picky eaters/diet/sleep/routine/patterns etc.  Some have depression or anxiety.  It can also cause traumas from childhood.  Some people say they are helping Autistic people.  But that is too far away from the real truth.  Many are denied access to great services.  There is a huge lack of support.  And many end up living in isolation, for years and years on end.

I have drawn up a small list of what is linked with Autism.

(1) Asperger's Syndrome.
(2) Bi Polar.
(3) Kanner Syndrome.
(4) Fragile X Syndrome.
(5) misdiagnosed Schizophrenia.
(6) OCD Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.
